Il devient conseiller municipal de la commune en 1904, puis adjoint au maire, avant d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9lu maire en 1908; Charles Marret s\u2019investit pendant plus de vingt ans \u2013 jusqu\u2019en 1925 &#8211; dans l\u2019administration de sa ville d\u2019adoption. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Georgia','serif'; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ses moyens financiers le lui permettant, il acquiert, avec ses deniers personnels, le \u00ab&nbsp;ch\u00e2teau Goguel&nbsp;\u00bb dont la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Bernheim fr\u00e8res, alors propri\u00e9taire, voulait transformer le parc en lotissement. Charles Marret n\u2019habite jamais cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9, il la c\u00e8de \u00e0 la commune pour en faire l\u2019h\u00f4tel de ville; le ch\u00e2teau prend alors le nom d\u2019&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;<strong>H\u00f4tel de M\u00e9zi\u00e8res<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px;
